The Young Frankenstein (1974)

Comedy gold: two words that sum up this movie perfectly.

Comedy movies these days just aren't what they used to be. This amazing movie was hilarious! It was a funny twist on a classic story.

Basically, the grandson (or great grandson...i forget) of the great Dr. Frankenstein has been told of his grandfather's castle and project. He goes up there and goes on the greatest adventure of his life. He meets a lovely young woman (she was really funny) and the grandson of Igor whose name is Igor as well...(but he prefers for it to be pronounced as: eye-gore...right...)

Creating a monster who can be sweet yet scares the townsfolk, Frankenstein's grandson sacrifices half his brain in order to protect his pet monster. This movie was truly terrific and it has definitely made the top of my comedy movies list. Makes me laugh every time :)

Favorite quotes:

Inga: Werewolf!
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Werewolf?
Igor: There.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: What?
Igor: There, wolf. There, castle.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Why are you talking that way?
Igor: I thought you wanted to.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, I don't want to.
Igor: [shrugs] Suit yourself. I'm easy.
Igor: Wait Master, it might be dangerous... you go first.
